Building Restoration

In 2007, the EUPFAC acquired the old Sacred Heart Church Hall which we had used many times for performances. It was built in the 1940's and has wonderful original pine wood walls, an intimate stage and a gorgeous stone fireplace. However, it also had a peeling roof, antiquated electric and heating systems. Since we acquired it we have replaced the roof, installed new doors, completely upgraded the electric and lighting, insulated the building, installed new windows and put on a new entry way and portico. While that sounds like a lot, there is still a lot to do. The summer of 2010 we plan to put on new siding. The community has been most anxious to see this piece of the renovation happen as the outside of the building has been an eyesore for at least 20 years.

To that end, we do four dedicated fundraisers per year to raise money for this restoration project. We have applied for grants and actually did get one grant for $17k, which was a huge help in jumpstarting this project. However, funding for arts and capital projects has been severely cut in the last year without any relief in sight.
